Nishtar Degree College and School System Wari Dir Upper, established in 2017, is the first and only degree-awarding institution dedicated to deliver quality higher education within Dir Upper, particularly for female students. Strategically located in the heart of Wari, the college began with an initial class of just 62 students, reflecting its mission to meet the educational aspirations of the local community. Rapid growth followed, and by 2019, the college secured affiliation with Shaheed Benazir Bhutto University Sheringal, enabling it to offer B.A/B.Sc programs. In 2020, a school section was introduced to extend educational opportunities from the ground up. By 2021, the college had expanded its academic programs, launching BS degrees in five vital fields:
English, Zoology, Chemistry, Pakistan Studies, and Computer Science, offering students comprehensive academic options aligned with current educational and employment trends. In response to the community’s needs, a male section was also introduced, making the college inclusive for all students. Nishtar Degree College and School System’s operations are formally registered and regulated by the Higher Education Regulatory Authority (HERA), Shaheed BB University Sheringal, the Private School Regulatory Authority (PSRA), and BISE Malakand. These accreditations affirm its commitment to maintain high educational standards and regulatory compliance, establishing the institution as a reputable and trusted center for academic excellence in Dir Upper.

The Nishtar College aims at offering all our students a broad and balanced curriculum that provides rewarding and stimulating activities to prepare them for the best social and cultural life.
Pre-Medical
The Pre-Medical department prepares students for careers in the medical and health sciences fields. With a strong focus on biology, chemistry, and physics, students gain foundational knowledge essential for higher studies in medicine, dentistry, and related fields. The curriculum is designed to cultivate analytical skills, scientific inquiry, and a deep understanding of human anatomy and life sciences.
Pre-Engineering
The Pre-Engineering department prepares students for engineering and technology careers. With a focus on math, physics, and chemistry, students gain foundational knowledge essential for advanced engineering studies. The curriculum develops problem-solving skills, analytical thinking, and technical understanding, creating a pathway for pursuing specialized fields such as mechanical, civil, electrical, or computer engineering.
Humanities
The Humanities department nurtures students' understanding of culture, history, and society. Associate Degree of Science
The Associate Degree of Science provides students with a comprehensive foundation in core scientific subjects like biology, chemistry, and mathematics. Associate Degree of Arts
The Associate Degree of Arts offers students a broad understanding of subjects such as literature, history, and social sciences. This comprehensive program provides a pathway to professions in education, media, public service, and other arts-related areas.
Computer Science
The Pre-Computer Science program prepares students for further studies in computer science and technology. The curriculum focuses on mathematics, programming basics, and logical thinking, providing a strong foundation for higher education in software development, networking, and data science. Students develop essential problem-solving skills and an understanding of computer systems, setting the stage for future careers in IT and technology fields.
